What color granite countertops would go best with my skate floor?

The grey you already has looks great. I wouldn’t do a granite— your floors already have a lot of color and movement

Most granites will fight your floor. If you want a new countertop, look at Silestone. They make a “soapstone looking” color that might work without competing. Stick to a mostly solid.

MAYBE Virginia Mist, honed, would work but some stone yards won’t have a piece with only a little veining.

That’s exactly what I was looking at. It’s called leathered Virginia Mist. It has a texture and low sheen. Do you think I should do the island the same and what about a black splash? Thanks in advance

    “Back splash”

One step at a time. Change the countertop and then reassess. You can’t visualize the new Virginia Mist so easily. It will REALLY change the look of your kitchen.

I went today and purchased leathered steel gray granite counter tops, hoping it will look good.

Do you have a photo of the slab?

I was going to suggest Steel Grey -- I think it would look good because the tone will likely play nicely with the floor and there is no variegation in it to fight with the floor (it's just a hunk of cool-tone grey, very quiet, kinda like the counter you have now -- which looks good BTW). Counters all the same material -- you've got enough going on visually with the floor already.

We have multicolored slate floors and backsplash; a granite called Lady Dream or Lady's Dream matches it like nothing else I've ever seen. It's frequently described as a very busy granite, but the pattern and movement is gorgeous and installed with multicolored slate, the patterns and colors blend beautifully and don't fight. It goes beautifully with stainless steel appliances and though it does have a lot of pattern and movement, somehow it makes the kitchen feel less busy because it matches and blends with the floor so well. It also looks great with copper and iron pots in decor or accessories if you like that look.

That look SO good! It looks like what should have been there all along! Now the floor and backsplash look “right”. I hope you love it. Great choice. 👏🏻

Thank you so much!! Looks so much better in person. What a relief glad it’s done

Good job. I love slate. But, I tend to use the black slate because the varigated is so difficult to match up. Beautiful floors. Wear like iron. Great material for flooring.
