No. Does it contain trylopyr? From what I understand (which isn't everything, for sure!) that's a necessary ingredient for killing violets.

Could we go at this a different way than more herbicides ?

And may I ask, how perfect does your lawn need to be so you can enjoy it without resorting to industrial strength herbicides?

Thanks, Marie. I appreciate this. Our lawn is way far from perfect. It’s out in the country in the middle of gravel roads in Felds and has every possible kind of weed imaginable, but the Violet’s were really really investing in the grass. Borax?. I’ll have to watch the YouTube.

Then, with all due respect. you shouldn't be using such products.

I've used triclopyr for violets for years, right up to the roots of ornamental shrubs and trees, and never had translocation through roots. I would avoid doing so around members of the pea family, as they are especially sensitive to it. I have had a situation where I used the diluted ester, broadcast sprayed in large quantities, on a calm, cool night and it burn the foliage of some nearby ornamentals. I can only imagine something else in the Tzone, which is labeled for a whole bunch of weeds, caused the issue.

Violets can be tough. There are a handful in my yard that I either have missed, or perhaps they are getting some resistance to growth regulator type herbicides. So I'm carefully painting them with a q-tip dipped in 10% glyphosate with a few ml of a strong surfactant (Brandt torpedo) to break down the waxy coating. This finishes the stragglers off. All the same my garden in the last 15 years has gone from having incredible dense growth of them to just a few. You really have to be careful with this weed. Nothing will invade a shady best faster and swamp out desirable woodland plants.
