Wednesday's blooms

Still no rain in sight for us. Often in the afternoon we might get a pop-up thunderstorm, but not this year. Another strange thing is the late bloomer seem to be putting up scapes earlier than normal. We haven't reached our peak yet. It's going to be a strange season.

What's Up Professor was planted last season.

This is War Horse.

Rose F. Kennedy is looking good today.

Carmen's Shady Schemes is so difficult to photograph, but I think this photo captures the correct color.

That's all the named varieties I photographed. We spend so much time looking at seedlings that the named ones get overlooked.

Here is the seedling Queen of the Garden. This one comes out of Bob's fulva breeding. It is (Fulva Korean X Crimson Stories) X Brazilian Flamingo. I love the curls on the sepals. It's a big flower too.

Here's another seedling I liked. It is Sun Bear X Horns and Thorns.

All very pretty today, Nancy.
What's Up Professor is very pretty. I like War Horse because of the bright colors, and who doesn't love RFK. Carmen's Shady Schemes is a very different color, and I like different. I'm nor sure which seedling I like the best. Bob's has the colors I like, and I really like Sun Bear X Horns and Thorns because of the truly lovely eye and the edges. Nice post, Nancy!

You have some lovely blooms. War Horse is very striking and looks to be a big red. I like Bob's seedling and yes, twirling is always an added plus. Looks big too. We have had rain here for the past 2 days and more coming tomorrow.. Will I complain...nope. But the daylilies are not liking to open in the 57 degree mornings. Hope the rain comes for you.

Is War Horse aptly named? It looks like it will be a good bloomer. Carmen’s Shady Schemes has such a dark pretty color. I really like the Sun Bear seedling.

War Horse has been disappointing. It is registered as 8 inch flower, but ours is never that big. It's also never as tall as its registered stats. We have some many in that color range that we like better it might not stay long.
