If I were your contractor you wouldn't. It may be your home, but it's my job site until it isn't.

I think it depends on the scale of the remodel but usually I would not llow it. Too many risks and also just not a good idea to have the homeowner there 24/7 while work is being done..What would be the reason for wanting to live in a work zone ? If you are asking about the rules of occupancy it is different than a new build at least where I live.
