How about Heuchera / Coral Bells? So many colors to choose from, they do send up dainty flower spikes & depending on your zone can be evergreen. The darker colors tolerate more sun than the lighter shades but all do well with regular watering. They make lovely border plants too,

My only fear is that it would have to be a fairly tall heuchera to be seen. I also have a heuchera bed (newly planted) as part of this garden much further to the left. (The garden is 30 feet long. I know I'm crazy). Any thoughts on a fairly tall coral bell?

I would repeat something you already have rather than putiing in one of something. That would make the bed more cohesive imo.

Butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) is a brilliant orange and makes a nice sized clump in a couple of years.

Butterfly weed is a thought.I already have it elsewhere, just have to sprinkle the seeds.

@a2zmom_Z6_NJ There’s a path or sidewalk that the Lamb‘s Ears are lining, is that right? I know you already have a strappy leaf shape with the daylily but I wondered about Japanese Forest grass. It’s in my pic below the large Acuba shrub. The grass can take some sun. It does spread to make a larger clump but not to show up in other areas & it’s easy to either divide or just dig out some to keep to a size. Mine has been in @ 4 years. You see I have a gold / yellow theme too with red sprinkled in with more Heuchera! I just replaced 3 huge Rock Rose Cistus ”Micki” on left side of path & the 3 small but bright yellow green shrubs are replacements - Kaleidoscope Abelia. This is north side of yard & right side is shade, left is sun. @floral_uk z.8/9 SW UK note about repeating something you already have for a cohesive look is a good point but I think a specific color scheme can also acheive a cohesive look..I do have lots of repetition with plants all around front & back yards, lots of yellow, plus lots of varigated plants as you see with my Acuba & Butterfly Maple - have 3 of those. There are huge fir trees on large property behind me so all this pattern & texture is a contrast to them!

How about 'White Swan' coneflower?

Not a bad thought. I think someone daisy shaped would be perfect there.

My immediate thought was a Dusty Miller. I have it in my mostly green-yellow-white garden. It is the silver plant at the right.

I see you already have coreopsis. There are other varieties that might go well in the scene. the one in the middle back is with dark red heart.

The very full pure yellow variety. Nicely compact about 18-24” tall

'White Swan' coneflower is also a good idea.
