awkward tv/feature wall

So this is definitely a feature/focal point in our living room, how do we minimally make this look more put together (don’t mind all the kids stuff, can shove that in the other room) have a fireplace on the other side of this room, so it’s a long narrow living room with two separate seating areas. Pendant light to left of tv, floating console, we also have kids so a little tough. Thank you for your thoughts!

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoFor some reason I can't crop the photo, but if you could imagine just the t v and wood panel on the wall.
Position the slat panel so it goes just a bit under the t v. Panels come in sheets and easy to install. Lowe's, Home Depot, Etsy.....There is a "faux" press on wood panel, but it just isn't the same.
