Samples in the space help narrow things. slate looks will have various tones….thinking of the hardwood as well as cab color.

I would continue the dark hardwood into the kitchen. I think it would pair nicely.

Repeat the dark walnut hardwood you have elsewhere, IN your kitchen......please. That will also be your warmest and most traditional feel. Unified floors make a home feel much larger and smoother

Or use a warm dark slate and failing that ? A tumbled marble stone. But the extension of existing hardwood is still the most unifying and water is not a "fear" . Hardwood has been in kitchens longer than you've been alive.

Best is show the existing kitchen and what you're doing : )

IMO do the walnut in the kitchen fake stone next to real wood not ideal and I guess I wonder why cream cabinets if they are causing issues I find creams are hard sometimes to work with so I need a bit more info but to me the floors are easy just match the rest of the hardwood.

First of all, thank you for all your great suggestions. I apologize for not posting photos, but here is what I’m working with. I’m not sure I would be able to find someone to carry the hardwoods into the kitchen. Do I think that would look gorgeous, yes, but it hasn’t been an option thus far.

You seem to be doing a 180 degree change in palette. From bright white trim in the living with pale gray walls, gray rug etc, and cool to warm. Or you are switching up other spaces as you remodel?

I don't love the floor tile, and on my monitor? Not very warm. The hardwood IS warm. The tile reads.....gray

From living space only visual is a bit of floor and some wall on far end of kitchen….id move away from so much safety w tones and typical struggles w that. get a pattern on the floor and paint that far wall and place a picture or two. cant comment on cab color but a good soapstone counter w these floors or the porcelain above will keep it classic and yet give you some interest to play against the cab color. you can have something happening in the space to notch it up a bit. have a look at a pattern for floor.

Yeah, definitely not that tile floor. Your suspicions are correct. Too much of the same and you will beige out. You need something to give it some character and interest. A patterned floor would do that for you, but as Jan says...it should have some warmth in it to connect as a proper transition from the wood, which is why I suggested the one earlier. Here is another, but there are so many great ones to chose from.. Pair it with a super simple subway backsplash, and it will look classic. You should consider painting out your casings as well in favour of a warmer white. The bright white is cold, and may not work so well depending on what you end up with flooring wise..

If your budget allows, extending the wood flooring into your kitchen would be the best choice IMO. It isn't hard to have wood floor continued and matched if you get sand in place flooring. They would however go UNDER your cabinetry so get a wood floor guy in for a quote before you install your cabinetry.

As others have said the LPV isn't going to give you the look you are after with your cabinetry. There are so many better options.
