Get unfinished engineered and have finished to match . Next best a prefinished engineered in a color as close as possible . Bedroom flooing can be different from the rest of the house as you have already experienced with carpet . I would not do carpet again if at all possible/

Plan to do a barn door also, which will help to cover bathroom floor.

Another question - which way do I run the flooring in bedroom? Same as hallway?
