I often wonder which repellent is better--Bobbex or Liquid Fence. They are both expensive, and both smelly. There has been a mother and fawn in the neighborhood, and some people have said that the mother attacked them. Fawns are the worst when it comes to predation. They will eat plants with repellent.

It's good to see Dearest Valentine blooming in that sea of balloon flowers! Your deer photos are fantastic. The fawn is so cute. I hope it won't be eating any of your plants.

I obviously have a different kind of balloon flowers. Mine bloom low and sparsely!! I remember your photos last year of your tall abundant plants!

When my daughter lived in Nashville her neighborhood community social media page blew up one day about a baby fawn lying on a sidewalk next to a busy street. People quicky posted they had called animal control who told them to stay away from it-the mom often leaves them alone while they go forage. After several hours someone reported seeing the mama come back and get it-the fawn never moved during that time. Amazing she thought leaving it beside a busy street would be safe!!

Interesting story Kate. When wildlife isn't really wild any more. I have to say I'm torn when it comes to destroying unwanted interlopers in my garden. We only have rabbits to contend with. As with fawns, it's usually the baby rabbits that are the ones that will test/taste plants while learning what to eat and what to avoid. Happened to one of my in ground daylily scapes one year. A baby bunny chewed them off the plant and then let them drop to the ground when it decided they weren't tasting right. Deer are another matter. I pity those that have them...........Maryl
