Perennials Ornamental Grass

Isn't it much too early for this?

I have a Lobelia syphilitica coming into bloom as well as two Panicum 'Heavy Metal'. This is my first time for the latter, so I don't really know, but it seems to me that the Blue Lobelia usually blooms in late August. We have had a lot of rain, and it's been pretty cool until quite recently when it finally got too hot and humid to be pleasant.

Any thoughts?

Seems too early for the switchgrass to be blooming. I haven't yet noticed anything coming along too early this year; if anything, things seems to be just a bit late -- I attribute that to the cool nights we had for much of June.

We had quite cool nights in June as well, and I'm baffled at the early blooms.
