The challenge is going to be the width--I could not find any freestanding 36" single door models that are still made (assuming that's your width--looks like it?) There are a number of built-in models in that size/configuration, but those start at $6-7K and go up from there. There are still some 31"-33" freestanding models with single doors, though, which might be your best bet.

We just went through this for an office that was laid out similarly. I know people hate Samsung around here, but the budget didn’t dictate a more expensive option and French door and counter depth was preferred. Samsung has a 33” French Door option without handles. This one has some bad reviews, but averaged 4 stars overall and thee was a longer warranty with it. Houzz won’t let me upload the photo, but you should be able to find it on Home Depot website.

A French-door fridge might work if you have 2" clearance on both sides or the fridge is pround of the cabinets. Also some single-door fridges allow you to reverse the door for the left-hand open if you go that route. And watch the height - those cabinets look a bit low (I had to trim the bottom of mine for a GE Profile model).

I thought the opening looked smaller than 36 but if it is 36 both monogram and kitchenaid have 36 options and thermador has a more affordable single door option as well.

Kitchen Aid sadly doesn’t make their 36” single door freestanding model anymore. For some reason we didn’t look at Monogram when we went through this search earlier this year—I think I thought they only made built-in refrigerators. (We ended up with a french door model, but also didn’t have the clearance issue—just preferred single door for our kitchen layout.)

You’ll see some bad reviews for just about everything. Don’t shop for a certain brand. Get something that fits your needs. We bought a new counter depth KitchenAid fridge a month ago after doing a lot of looking. It just fit what we needed and wanted.

Yes, that was it. It may have too much of a modern look for this homeowner.

Check Fisher & Paykal. I too am fridge shopping and just the other day I saw some F & P that could work in your space.

Samsung and LG have bad reviews because of a failing compressor design. And poor service that takes awhile.

Thanks for all the input! Our space is 72”H, 25”D, and 39”W. I will be updating the kitchen, so more modern is ok. The current fridge is 33”W, and I can’t get the crisper drawers out without pulling out the fridge.

Another thumb up for Fisher Paykel. I had my first for over ten years with zero issues, and replaced it during a renovation. I love everything about it.

Can't advise you on a 'fridge, but we just had to replace our 4 year old Whirlpool, double door, freezer on the bottom. To replace it to match the other appliances, White Ice, the new 'fridge was $4800.00. We didn't do it. No warranty left on anything. What ever you buy, check the warranty carefully. Most are offering 1 year, only. A 20 year old 'fridge...just don't make them like they used to.

Best to take your measuring tape to the appliance store and open the doors and measure how much space you have with doors open. And look at the insides. The Samsung I spoke about earlier has kind of a janky interior. Didn’t seem sturdy at all, but since it’s for an office where there are a few people who use it infrequently it wasn’t as big as a deal with a family using it.
