I have looked at pottery barn for light fixtures like that but they are too wide. My table is only 38” wide by 72”.

A round table would fit the space better.

Your table is way too large. the area is uncomfortably tight. You probably need a 42" or 48 inch round table, ( pedestal is great ) four lighter chairs and the light centered on the window based on those dimensions.

You DON'T need a rug. Put some great art on the wall.

Thanks for the suggestions. The plant and things in corner aren’t staying. I just put things there when I was rearranging things in another room. I wanted a round table but hubby wanted rectangular one so we could use a bench and push the table over further. Otherwise it was in the way of the door.

I'd like to see you echo some of the black from the island in the breakfast area as Lila showed above. I personally like rugs under tables, the right color and pattern will help define the space. And most of the rugs available in big box stores are durable, inexpensive and easily cleanable as long as you get a low, tight nap.

Too bad on the table, to appease hubby I would have bought a smaller table with leaf so could expand to rectangle only when extra seating needed. Already too many rugs in the perimeter. But love the rug you’re thinking. Maybe keep just the one at the door. Go to lighting store and look at lights around 1/3-1/2 length of the table inches. Some pleasing art on the blank wall that brings you joy.

Cant tell with the images but is it possible tye table could turn 90 degrees?

Sunroom and only thing staying in there is the rug.

Den and it needs help too! We won’t to mount tv but are trying to figure out what to do with the missing brick and we took down the upper bookcase shelves. Black end table and gray lamp are not staying.

So, you've just downsized and are starting from scratch? I'm impressed. You have good taste, the spaces will come together. But, you do have a time crunch with the electrician. Can you postpone for a week to give you a chance to find lighting?

Boy, that is SO the wrong table for that area.

A round table and chairs would be so much better. If you cannot change it out then can you at least turn the table sideways so there is some room to move?

If you could please DRAW and Measure as I asked above? It would do no harm to change the table and move the one you have to the SUNROOM. !! Post the floor plan for the entire house if you have it. Take a pic, file as a jpeg and add in a comment box down below. At least give us the dimensions of the breakfast area unless you want guess work answers?

Simple answer is art on the walls and a great, artsy centerpiece on the table. i like that you took the leaf out.

another idea, what if you put the table in the sun room and put those wicker wing chairs by the window in the breakfast room?
