I think we need a bit more info I happen to like islands with very little decor except for a big bowl of fruit you actually eat and sometimes I put a nice bunch of frsh flowers but I use my island so not much on it .

Agree with Patricia -- Nothing but a fruit bowl and/or fresh flowers in a large vase.

a big white orchid is another option, they last longer than fresh cut flowers

I also like the idea of keeping it simple. I love this example of a large vase with cut branches and a tray of fruit.
