Thank you so much. Liquid Fence has certainly been my friend. The front pics are current. Cottage garden and daylily bed will be looking like the pics in a couple of weeks. I hope I can keep the deer at bay for a little longer. A mama and two spotted cuties showed up a few days ago. They are so gorgeous, but give me so much angst!

It was great finding you on Facebook which brought me back here. Winter wasn't very good and I forgot about this forum. Hope to see you on July 23.

Deanna, good memory. it is Buttered Popcorn. i have lots and lots of daylilies, and in my opinion it is the best performer by far. The color works with nearly everything, it stands very tall and very sturdy stems. My established clumps have at least 25 stems and each stem gets about 12-15 blooms. It is a powerhouse, i have it repeating in my cottage garden and then divided some of those clumps a couple years ago when we made the bed by the road and I repeated them in there. I cannot say enough about this daylily. Plus, who doesnt love buttered popcorn, ’eh? 😀

Oh my goodness, you are close enough (I’m in Bedford) for me to attend on 7/23! Your garden looks like what I hope mine will in a couple years as it matures. Just beautiful. Would love to see it in person and talk NH gardening!

Alas, we have tickets to a NOFA blueberry concert at a farm in Hopkinton NH that was supposed to be last Thursday night but got rescheduled due to rain to 7/28 12-2. I'm going to miss your open garden day. please post more photos. maybe everyone here who visits should post a photo of their favorite plant.

defrost that is a great idea - for everyone to post photos! Thank you, Thyme, for your generous offer! It's so gracious and thoughtful to invite us in to your garden. Unfortunately I am too far to make it but have always loved seeing your pictures, and watching the evolution of your garden. I especially remember the posts dealing with your hillside solutions, as that is something that so many people seem to have to deal with. And your cottage garden is just so lovely.

I hope everyone who attends has a wonderful time. Fingers crossed for good weather and few deer lol. And please do post photos!

thank you so much, Dee. Alas I have changed my front slope again. But I think for the better! Believe it or not I have planted a lot of roses. So far they seem to be doing OK. The zillion inches of rain so far this season I am sure has helped!

I am glad you like the cottage garden. That is the fourth iteration of that garden space over 24 years and I am just so pleased with it. Not sure why it took me so long to get there! LOL! Such a simple recipe too……daylilies, phlox, daisies, allium and lots of butterfly weed (that has fast become my all-time favorite plant)……of course there are other goodies thrown in and also have spring and fall plants in there, but those few groups really make up the mid-summer show.

I just sprayed for deer a few days ago in between the raindrops. This is the first year I have been religious (ahem…..not lazy) about spraying regularly, and lo and behold my hostas are all intact and uneaten. Crazy how that happens when we dont rest on our laurels!
