You could tie down 3 of the tallest branches to a brick so that the tree grows three leaders. Put a couple feet of mulch around the tree so it doesn't get weed wacked or mowed and hide the bricks in the mulch. Don't pull the branches down sharply just start it arcing.

John, I am not following you on the purpose of arcing three of the branches. How will this benefit the three central leaders that are left?

Now I understand. Thank you. The problem is these are basically coming from ground level out of the graft, and I have been considering having one of these grow to about 3 feet and hopefully using it is as the new trunk, and then allowing it to hopefully start branch out at about two feet out of the ground.

If you cut it above a leaf node, it will branch out. However that tree is way too young to start pruning it into a vase shape. It needs strong central / vertical for a few seasons first.

Thanks, Jordan, a few weeks ago I cut all the other growth but the tallest one, and it starts branching at about 8-10", I will watch it, and perhaps cut out the bottom branches, later.
