Help with electric range

I'm in the market for a new electric range. The problem Is the electric range I have was built in 1960 or around there. It is a kelvinator model that is 40 inches in width. The current market for electric range only has 30 inch width electric range. What would I do with the 10 inch gap?

Old 1960's cabinets have done their time too. Best to approach this as a whole renovation project than a piecemeal one.

Assuming you are not planning a reno you can have a cabinet built in. we had this done in an apartment once - it didnt match but filled the space and gave cutting board storage. Not super classy but did the job for a tiny fraction of the cost of new cabs. also highly recommend induction over standard electric!

You can fill in the gaps with pullouts or just plain filler--but there are a few 40" ranges still on the market, too. Ilve makes a 40" induction range with dual ovens that looks really nice, depending on your budget.

"I'm in the market for a new electric range"

Are you considering an electric radiant (aka smoothtop) range or induction range?
