Any solutions for my vanity inside my master bedroom

We have this weird design issue in the master bedroom with the vanity located inside the bedroom. This has created a bit of an issue especially when myself or my husband wakes up before the other, theres just no way of blocking the light.

I would love to enclose this space, but my closet is located to the left of the vanity and goes all the way to a set of french doors.

I’ve thought about just partially extending the wall on the right but not sure that will really fix anything. i also cant envision just a partial wall.

We are planning on changing out the vanity, mirrors, removing the box housing the fluorescent lights and adding some normal lighting, also removing the carpet right in front of the vanity and continuing the tile from the bathroom.

just wanted to get some input on any possible solutions or any other fixes that we should add to make this space a bit more ”normal”

Those bypass doors are always anoying anyhow. Extend the wall of the enclosed portion of the bath down to the closets. Swap out the closet doors for new standard doors or bi hinge. Essentially one closet will be accessed from the bedroom, the other from inside the bath.

with a flat ceiling over the front of the closet doors, it doesn't look like a problem building walls and inclosing the area.

It looks like you could potentially enclose the master bathroom area with the closet, however, it will definitely remove a lot of added space in your room. You could look at doing barn doors to slide open easily or adding a small space to do your makeup in your room. Here are two ideas from designs we have done:

Cannot provide the best solution without

1) photos of all 4 walls of the bedroom

2) dimensions of the closet.

Wondering specifically if the closet could be enlarged and/or accessed from another point. Potentially eliminating the closet door that is adjacent to the vanity.

The vanity seems to be a bad focal point. Have you thought of pedestal sinks and just adding a narrow closet for storage? You have wall to wall or did, in the bathroom? Tile or do something to the floor, def not full carpet. Def get rid of the florecent lighting! Just suggestions to open it up more and make it more ”airy”.

krystyn, this is more than just a vanity problem.

the carpet needs to go (at least up to a certain point) all new flooring tile for the vanity/inside shower area. New lighting or remove the soffit. maybe see if the wall can come down between the two

we did one in a rental 15 yrs ago.

found a vanity on craigslist, topped it w/a remnant granite piece, redid the tile floor and the shower

and yes, this was the style 15 yrs ago! so be careful what products you choose.

Sorry for the confusion. I may need to word my initial post differently. I don’t want to update the look of the vanity area or keep it. I have no use for it. The bathroom to the right side is perfectly fine being smaller because my husband is the only one that uses it.

What i’m needing is to expand my closet into the vanity area. The mirror and vanity can all go completely. Obviously I would hang new poles to expand the clothes but what i’m struggling with is the door set up. The new entrance into the expanded closet..
