Mostly seedlings today

What a strange season. Many of our are winding down. A lack of buds has resulted in a shorter season. Many of the late bloomer bloomed earlier than normal. Some of the lates are just getting scapes.

Explosion in the Paint Factory is not looking good this year--shorter than normal scapes and very poor bud count. The flowers are smaller than normal too.

Most of these seedlings are at least 4 years old, many of them older. This is one we hope to register in 2025. It is Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X Rosy Spiketail.

This seedling is 2 years old (I think). It is Princess of Alexandria X Spacecoast Alpha Wolf.

This is Susan Ruoff X Carrots Forever. Sometimes the sepals stick straight out but today they had some recurve. We really like this one and hope to register it when it increases enough.

I have shown this one before. It is Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You. We are waiting on increase with this one too. This is giving us some wonderful offspring especially when bred to taller daylilies like Wolverine.

This is Wolverine X On Your Knees You Will Find Him. Its fate is unknown at this time.

This second generation fulva offspring has some teeth. It is (Fulva Korean X Ted's Tribute to Linda) X Colorful Chaos Nelli.

Hard to evaluate things when dryness and adverse seasons have wreaked havoc. I noticed today that Apache War Dance is blooming on very short scapes. The Sea of Cinders seedling will be awaited.

I hate that Explosion is not doing well for you this year. It is a strange year all around. I, like Mantis, will await the Sea of Cinders Seedling. I do like the Susan Ruoff X Carrots Forever seedling.

I like Susan Ruoff X Carrots Forever the best today. It has so many things going on with the bloom, and it looks like it has great bud count. My second favorite is Princess of Alexandria X Spacecoast Alpha Wolf. The reds with the gold toothy edges are nice too - just not my favorite color combo.

Although I typically don't enjoy toothy daylilies, Susan Ruoff X Carrots Forever is quite outstanding! I see why you want to register it.

My lates are too blooming earlier, the season already compressed enough.

Explosion still looks good! Nice nice seedlings, I like teeths )) My favorite are the first two, Lady Stephanie's and Princess of Alexandria's.

Mantis, our Apache War Dance is at least a foot shorter than it usually is. Strange season!

Nice group of seedlings. You and Bob are quite creative in your crosses for toothy ones. The season here has good and bad. I'm just going with it. Next year could be different again.

I had pretty much the same experience on blooms here, Nancy. A few plants did not notice the odd weather, but the majority had fewer buds, some as low as 5. Fewer scapes too.

These are all great seedlings, glad you will be registering Susan Ruoff X Carrots Forever. I really like that one. But then, I would probably register all of them, from appearance at least. Lovely.
