round. a glass top would be nice.

Do you have a formal dining room elsewhere in the home?

You could select a round table that expands if necessary to accommodate more.

Yes there is a formal dining room. this is for a kitchen table. dont need to have it rxpand as thr dining toom has a table that expands. its a modern farmhouse

Thinking marble or wood top

A round, or oval table, might look really nice and help give you some curves.

Aesthetically a round table would look nice but a rectangular table could be more practical. Rectangular can be pushed up against a wall. A large round table is very difficult to move out of the way. You may want to clear that space for a party or such in the future.

I vote for a round table. If you have a formal dining room in the house already and this is more for the kitchen area, a round room will fill in the space and break up all the straight lines.

A nice chandelier would really add to the whole aesthetic. Good luck!
