Extra Space / Empty Corner in Living Room

My husband and I moved into a relatively new house less
than a year ago, and we have this empty corner between the entry and living room with an air vent on the wall that I hate looking at. I’m trying to figure out what to do with the space and have a few ideas, but would love any suggestions!

We are a married couple with no kids and one cat. My husband absolutely does not want any cat climbing fixtures and I agree.

A friend suggested a reading corner but with the sofa, guest bedrooms, main bedroom and patio, I think there are plenty of places to read one of our many books and the space can be better utilized

We will have an extra counterstool that I would prefer be used here and brought to the counter when needed

We want a tea bar, but there is another space in the house we were going to use this for

The house has no space for a dining table and I have tried to figure out a way to put it in this area but unfortunately it will block the walkway into the kitchen

The wall with the air vent is 7’5” and the adjacent wall is 4’2”, ceiling is about 10’ at its highest

If you put a small rectangular table and two chairs in the spot do you think you'd use it for eating? Or would it potentially be a clutter catcher?

I thought about that and I’m worried about blocking the air vent with anything, even a chair with open legs, as it may not work as efficiently since that’s basically the intake for the whole house. I’m hoping to camouflage the vent rather than put something in front of it

Can the entrance into the kitchen be moved over to where the artwork and buffet are currently? You would close up that entrance and have space for a decent table w/o disturbing the air vent.

Try moving the console that you have backing on to your kitchen with the two green paintings above it on to that wall. You could place it just to the right of the intake vent. With art above it, it will distract the eye from the vent. I wouldn’t place a chair there. (When I saw the chair with its back to the room, tucked into the corner, I thought of it being a “time out corner”!).
