Please help with a white coneflower!

I'm searching to replace a daylily which I will be giving to my neighbor. I'd like to replace it with a white coneflower.

I have my eye on Lucky Star, can someone please provide any experience with LS or another white echinacea that's relatively floriferous and that has survived the winter.

I had Milkshake but it only survived 2 winters.

Years ago, I grew a dwarf white Echinacea cultivar, that was a waste of space. It only produced a couple flowers each year, and it always looked sickly. I would avoid any dwarf cultivars. I don't recall the cultivar's name, it was years ago. If there are any white cultivars that have a native origin, I'd go with that.I also bought a dwarf purple cultivar with the white one, and it performed just as badly as the white one. I started growing the straight species Echinacea purpurea and it thrives and produces many vigorous seedlings

Fragrant Angel is my "go to" white coneflower. I haven't tried any others because Fragrant Angel does nicely.

The newer cultivars of coneflower are just so....finicky, I've heard they cr*p out quickly. You can't go wrong with the oldie but goodie "White Swan", though -- she's still around for a reason. I did have "Pow Wow White" at my other house, and it lasted a couple seasons and looked good (I moved so I don't know how it did over the long haul).

Cecily, that's good to know, I just bought Fragrant Angel.

mxk3, tanks for the tip on White Swan, I think I'm going to try that too!

Ditto on the White Swam. But that is the only white echinacea I've ever grown so I can't compare others to it.
