Entry way décor suggestions

Help with entry way design. I like the idea of a larger rug, but the console table is in line with the door so I don’t think it would work unless I used a runner.

Tape out a runner (masking tape) and see how it feels. I think a runner going down the "hall" to the living room or at least to the coat closet might be pretty nice.

The little table shouldn't matter in a rug decision.

Must the console table stay? It looks like it might fit on the short wall just around the corner near the sofa. You could also use a shelf or a wall mount console table to free up the floor space.

Your new rug will define the Foyer nicely. Look for width just short of the corner to the right of the door sidelight.

I just saw the runner suggestion...good idea to lengthen the entry.

Do you really need a rug? It's a neater look without. Maybe concentrate on wall art?

Draw the eye to the fireplace with a low seat/stool and a hearth rug.

Remove the console table and get round and Italian-ish cabinet/side table, and then put the art print that is over the fireplace over the round cabinet. This might do if it's not too small

Then find a more colorful artwork for over the fireplace. It could be the same European theme as the black and white scene

I would find another spot for the console table, it's not really adding a lot to the space. What color is the door, a dark red or a cherry stain? I would consider painting the inside part the same color as the trim. If the colors in your pic are correct the door seems to clash with the floor.

Definitely get a runner or even a 3X5 or 5X7. Rugs do a great job of visually defining a space.

    -move the console table

-put a large piece of art on the wall

-add an area rug or runner

    -possibly paint the door

The little table shouldn’t have any effect on the rug size.

You definitely need a bigger rug. I like what Beverly did up there. 👆

Are you totally attached to the table? It seems small and ineffective with its spider-y, tippy-looking legs. It doesn’t seem to serve any purpose other than to hold a picture. Which seems odd - your visitors see whatever that picture is, first thing inside the door. Why?

I like the idea of a large rug. This is the rug in the open space next to it, so was thinking I might have to do a solid color or change the other rug if I want to do a patterned rug so they don’t clash.
