Are you thinking of painting at all, too? What about a shade from the brick to replace the white and then maybe some shutters, too. It seems like the shutters would help to break up that long expanse shown here.

Is this the front or side?

Don't see an entrance so this must be the side ? I see nothing wrong with the length of the house, but with the lack of landscaping and the fact that the house has two different materials on it. Can you make a shot from further back , with house in the center and showing both sides ?
If you want to do a makeover you could use vertical siding as in the illustration below, and add a pergola for interest. The landscaping in the picture below goes well with your style of house.

This is the side of the house. It is a rancher the sits longways.
Front and back pictures. New siding is coming this week and windows. Landscaping is my big issue.

What a great open space to work with! First things first: hardscapes. I would pull the landscaping out from the house 10-12' to give depth. Use a hose snaked across the ground to temporarily define an attractive border, then edge it with something you can mow across, like flagstones. If money is an issue, just use pine straw or other mulch right up to that imaginary edge and plan on spraying Roundup in the future to control grass and weeds. A load of dirt can make a little hill, to be crowned by a specimen tree, like a Japanese maple. A fire pit would be a nice feature, if this is the area of the yard you use. The two evergreens don't necessarily have to go. You can hand prune them, opening them up and removing lower limbs (think bonsai). Fill the mulched area with shrubs of diminishing size. Plug in bulbs over time. A cottage garden would be lovely here. You have freedom to do so much! I always include a fig tree and blueberries, herb garden, and space for perennials in my homes. I love to eat fresh food from the yard, and you have the sunlight to grow almost anything, depending on your zone. Have FUN!

As mentioned above take one area at a time and concentrate on that. The front for instance . You made only a close up of the front and it doesn't give the entire picture so its difficult to make suggestions. Stnad a little further back and center the house, showing both sides.
