Need help with this faucet, please!

For over six decades, this ancient bathroom faucet has faithfully served our household.

Recently, we embarked on a renovation project for the powder room it resided in, and we decided to give the faucet a fresh look by having it replated. Surprisingly, despite leaving the plumbing hardware untouched, an issue arose when attempting to reinstall the faucet – it started leaking from the spout.

In an attempt to resolve the problem, I purchased o-rings, but unfortunately, they proved ineffective. To my dismay, I scoured various places in search of a solution, but haven't had any luck. My plumber says I will have difficulty finding the washer needed. His worker said that I need a felt washer 1/2" by 3/8" but I haven't any luck sourcing it.

If anyone has any knowledge of where I might find this specific washer or any alternative suggestions, I would be immensely grateful. This renovation project was carefully planned around preserving the character of my grandparents' home, blending their cherished memories with a touch of modernity.

Try an industrial supply house that has o rings and washers for all manner of arcane industrial piping.

Trying to help a plumber fix something he's not smart enough to figure out himself isn't easy but here gos. First off consider adding packing string to the oring or subbibing for it altogeather. Failing that,send the effected part pf faucet to Teter's Faucet Parts in Dallas Texas and you have my guarantee they will furnish the correct part to make the repair. I hve a question for you. Why did you hire a plumber that doesn't know at least how and where to buy parts as some bozo on the net does?

My plumber didnt say that he cannot fix it. It's just been a low priority for him and a pain in the you know what. He's a fabulous master plumber and in 30 years we have had zero issues with him. I did have other plumbers come and look at it cause our plumber was too busy with boiler season and they did not have an idea what to do or where to go. We had zero luck with New York Replacement Parts and other places he's checked. He said he needs to dig more through his stuff or make calls but I am anxious to fix the sink so want to source it myself, if I can. I also have two of these faucets. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Do I have to send the part in?

I took you at your word when you said " My plumber says I will have difficulty finding the washer needed ". I should have asked why you make excuses for your plumber but I think I have a picture now so you need not explain. As for "Do I need to send the part in"? Read my first response.
