I like the texture on the back of your chairs.

Do you want something striking and dramatic? Or very useful? Something that adds sparkle? Modern and witty? Or something that adds nature and zen? Color?

A big bold painting brings serious flair, and can instantly change the vibe of any space. Whether hung above a bed , sofa or elsewhere in the room, a painting can create a focal point with impact and add both color and dimension.

My two cents, lots of questions! Lol! We have thought about white wood top on mantle maybe vertical wood on left and wood floating shelves on the right in front of grass cloth or vinyl wall covering. Just not sure how to pull it together and if to busy? Thanks!

Busy? That will depend on your taste. One person's busy is another person's boring!

I don't think the size of your TV and the configuration of the wall is a good location for shelves. Also, how do you plan to address the built-in speakers? They're an eyesore.

I think no matter how many times you say you don't want gray people will keep suggesting it.

I think if you do plain grasscloth you will need to buy more things to "finish it" and have more decisions. I think vertical slats would be nice if you pick the right wood tone and the right configuration. My own preference would be to cover the trapazoid wall to the left with a graphic print wall covering that mimics your chairs, but with a vertical "stripe" of wavy-ness, not horizontal.

Then I would do something sophisticated with living plants on the other side, maybe working in some vertical sculptural objects, maybe one or 2 sitting on floating shelves.. Looks like a drape of some sort might be nice to frame the window but can't tell from the angle of your shot.

I think light wood works better than dark. Not so dark in room.

Our cabinets on opposite wall are white oak in a drift finish.

If I wanted that look, I'd go with actual corrugated cardboard, and I'd stick to doing it only on the left trapezoid. Then i'd bring in some actual Gehry-inspired corrugated cardboard furinture pieces, like a wiggle chair or stool with a rubber tree set atop it or a coffee table base with a biomorphic glass top

Unless you are willing to buy new furniture, I would keep going with the sofa and chair colors.

Chair light gray on the t v wall, lighter wood effect on the left wall and the color of the sofas on the lower cubicle and fireplace.

Peel and stick wallpaper would work and you could change it out to suit the mood.

IMO...consider another color for decor pillows. If you do go with the wood tone tambour effect, bring that tone to the sofas.

I personally wouldn't want to obliterate the geometric forms in the structure of the end of the room by blanketing it with a uniform treatment.

Something I'd enjoy is either some short spine bookhselves or a bookworm swirl to the right of the TV

@ mytwo cents First I though the same ...to go with wooden slat partially and did not like it. I think it is better to go with slat for entire wall.

Tall green plant to the left of the TV and a grouping of 3 shorter plants or maybe 3 chunky vases of varied heights to the right of TV on the built ins. To my eye the objects on that surface are too scattered and small scale.
