Would concrete pavers work?

The town uses calcium chloride on the gravel roads around here. They get sprayed twice a summer to keep the dust down. I would hazard a guess that if it can take some road traffic, it can probably take some light foot and mower traffic. I have no idea what the application would be under your porch, they use sprayer trucks on the roads out here.

You are proposing a more expensive and maintenance intensive long term solution as opposed to a short term higher cost that fixes the issue permanently.

Rip off the bandaid and cover it with a concrete slab. Done once, it's only painful once. Keep picking at it forever in the future as maintenance, and it forgets to get done. And it costs more over time.
