Blooming on a very hot Thursday

Someone turned the temperature dial up here as today will be one of the hottest days we have seen this season and tomorrow will be worse. It is still dry here. We have had a little rain but not enough to do much good. Our state inspector was here this morning. He lives about 70 miles south east of us. He said July had been very rainy at his place--about 8 inches. We have been dry with all of the rain going either north or south of us.

Last Man Standing makes a nice addition to the late garden. It is a fast increaser. We have divided this clump before and it is again huge.

But Wait, There's More is finally showing the 'more'.

Cherokee Pass is a good grower here.

I know I keep posting Heavenly Angel Kisses, but I really like this one--tall, strong scapes with delightful flowers.

Raggedy Man just starting blooming.

Ruby Grandeur is winding down. It's so hard to capture the rich red.

The first three seedlings all have Cherry Pie a la Mode as a pollen parent.

Last Man Standing makes a bright, beautiful clump in your late season! It sounds like it's very vigorous. I like all three of Cherry Pie's babies, probably the first one the most. It's interesting that you got a red eye when crossing it with Kiss of Paradise.

I like the color on Wait There's More. It reminds me a bit of South Seas before the heat of the afternoon changes the nuances of color......Ruby Grandeur is on my short list. I think I have it sourced for next spring. I'm picky about my reds in daylilies, but this looks right up my alley.....You know I like the orange/red seedling out of Pineapple Bites. A hot color like your Muy Caliente (which has done well in my climate). I hope to see it again........Maryl

I’m with Maryl on the Pineapple Bites seedling—love the hot color. I also like the Kiss of Paradise seedling. Last Man Standing looks good in that clump.

I love the Pineapple Bites seedling, nice and bright with to me is a perfect edge. But Wait There’s More is a great looking double, would love that here.

I assume that the Kiss seedling has good size. Nice big eye and enough edge for interest. I don't share the enthusiasm for But Wait. Years ago, when I first saw it lined out, it really struck me; but it has been in the estate garden for many years, and the color always seems dull. Cherokee Pass is a bright later one. It was wiped out by the tree limb, but will survive for another year.

Great looking clump of Last Man Standing. Heavenly Angel Kisses is so beautiful and refreshing. Oh what a color on Pineapple Bites's seedling. Kiss of Paradise's is my fave from three Cherry Pie seedlings.

Same weather here, way too hot and too dry..

My favorite of all of these is your seedling Pineapple Bites X Ashwood Inferno.. Such a wonderful color and great form as well. Last Man Standing also very nice.

Last Man Standing is a great clump. . But Wait There's More has beautiful colors. And, of course, I am pulling for -Pineapple Bites X Ashwood Inferno. to be an intro. What a color!
