Need more information. What style will you be looking to achieve in this home? What is your budget for possible changes? Do you have a color palette for home and furnishings?

if it were mine, I would sand and re finish the floor and paint all the simple trim and flush doors.

Keep the decorative doors and ceilings and refresh with a cleaner.

much wider window and door trim would also help visually.

I guess I wouldn't be thinking all or nothing. I wouldn't change that magnificent front door or the trim in the entry. I would change the entry floor to something really spectacular. I don't know why I'm thinking some kind of marble. I'd look into ways to augment the entry closet doors.

I wouldn't paint the wood ceiling in the bedroom, but I'd refinish the floor. I'd refinish and wood door, baseboard etc that showed wear.

That front door is stunning!!! Keep the wood. Look out for quality vs cheap wood, paint the cheap, stain the quality. Lots of luck!

I think the front door looks like it belongs on a monestry and does not go with the windows. As for the rest it looks like all the wood does not even match so I would redo the floors to all match in color change the entry to match the rest of the wood floors and then paint all the trim and change that carpet on the stairs

i want modern wood house style? modern farm house? Also i want to keep beautiful wood features but i mean whats the best option for baseboard, every doors.. i dont want 90s feeling but i like wood! please advice for me getting this house upgrade. im planning to remove old tiles and to put new floor like as laminate wood flooring.. also will put new cabinets in kitchen

You’ve answered your own question. You like the wood, you want to keep the wood, then restain the wood. You should probably hire a painting specialist, they should be able to advise you on color and repair any damage. Beautiful house!

If you are redoing the kitchen and bath then I might have the designer or contractor render a mock up showing how the trim would painted or changed somehow.
They could show you different options and help you unify the look throughout.

Great house! it seems like there’s a lot of potential and a lot of house - I am usually a fan of DIY but in this case I think it could be really easy to end up with a mishmash (not seeing modern farm house) I’d find a talented local designer to help you come up with a plan that you can implement over time - it will save you money in the long term

Do you like the current stained trim? You need to decide what will work for you. I personally would paint it white since I don't like stained trim.

Don’t use laminate for new flooring. Won’t upgrade this house at all. Look at engineered hardwood. I would suggest you search with key words on Houzz and Pinterest for Homes with wood flooring and trim. Just save each picture in an “Ideabook”. Enter a few words in the “comment” line to say what you like in the photo. After you have saved 10-12 photos, a theme will emerge and it will help you visualize what you want your home to look like and feel like.

Here are a few I found in a search here on Houzz using keywords “entry, oak wood trim and flooring”. Usually see lighter walls but a sage green on walls is a pretty complement to oak wood tones. Notice some use a variations of wood tones to help blend everything. Then imagine beautiful rugs to further enhance the spaces and help tame all the woods. I would consider either darkening the front doors or changing them out to better suit the overall styling of this home. They look heavy Mediterranean? What is style of this home on the exterior? That might help drive thinking as well.

A few entry door looks. But very much depends on overall style your home is.

@Flo Mangan why do you recommend engineered hardwood flooring over solid wood flooring? I need to choose soon too and don't want to regret my choice.

Solid hardwood is great but it depends on your climate. You stated you were considering laminate which is the least desirable. If you go with installed and on site finished hardwood, make sure you have great installers who know how to do this well. White oak is best look and takes stain without a lot of red looks. Make sure you monitor the install very closely. I would remove all baseboards and edge moldings so flooring is close to wall without big gaps. You will likely need new baseboards to give finished look and allow some gap to accommodate natural expansion and contraction of real wood with climate and humidity changes.

If you are in climate with high humidity, engineered wood is more stable and can tolerate these changes better. They also have some waterproof qualities on sone brands.

@Flo Mangan if i install new floor and new baseboard both, it should be same color? some baseboard and edge mording is terrible condition now so i think we have to install new baseboard and floor

Yes, best time to replace all that. Make a decision on painted baseboard or stained. I think a warm white baseboard would enhance a wood floor by bringing contrast and breaking up sone of the wood look. I would paint it in semi-gloss SW Alabaster or similar warm white and paint walls in SW Alabaster in a FLAT finish. The different “finishes” will give a slight variation to the look but brighten up your spaces a lot. Great background for whatever furnishings you have or are considering.

Notice in this picture the baseboard and walls are same color and how beautiful the flooring looks up against it. No shoe moulding needed if flooring is leveled before installation of new wood flooring.

Thanks @Flo Mangan I am in a humid environment. Engineered it is. That means I can put heating underneath too, so that's good.

Wouldn't you also say that making the baseboard the same as the wall color increases the visual height of the room?

No laminate! Flo has good advice, get rud of all smal cheap baseboards and paint walls same colour, use paint without yellow tones.
