AC Unit leaking profusely (indoor unit)

last modified: 3 years ago

Our Gibson air conditioner is leaking bad from the inside unit. My husband has tried cleaning it twice with coil cleaner, second time he used heavy duty cleaner and a steamer our HVAC guy loaned us. It's still leaking. Prior to the second cleaning, the line to the outside unit kept freezing up. It hasn't so far in the few hours since the last cleaning. My husband has also cleaned the outside unit as well. Our tech checked our freon level, it's good. This is a recurring problem for several years. We've had our tech to the house multiple times each summer, and it feels like he just keeps "putting a band-aid on it" to get us by. We'd really like to figure out what is causing this and get it repaired so we don't have to keep enduring not having working AC when it's over 100 degrees outside. It's been almost 90 in our house every day due to this problem. Thankfully we own one window unit, so we've all been sleeping in the same bedroom. But something's got to give. Does anyone have any insight into what the problem may be or what we can do to try and fix it? Thank you in advance.
