It’s just gorgeous!! I watched a youtube video the other day, it was a garden tour of hydrangeas. Limelights were topping at 9 feet tall in that garden! Mine only ever get to 5-6 feet.

mazerolm, With the blooms, I think mine tops out at about 8-9 feet, but I am in a colder zone. You wouldn’t think it would make that much difference……

Beautiful. I pruned mine back hard in the spring. The new branches have brought tons of new blooms that have made the tree look massive.

Erasmus, my tree receives early morning sun until house shadows cover it around 4pm. Then it gets some late afternoon sun as well. The blooms are way bigger than my hand….

Did you create the tree shape yourself or buy it that way? My Limelight is now a lot greener than it was.

Well, the tree had a shape when I bought it so I have pretty much tried to maintain that. But as a tree matures branches will become thicker and so the shape can change. During a bad storm some years ago a large branch fell on the limelight and broke one of the major branches. Other branches have grown from that spot, but none as large around as the one I lost. I pretty much let it do it’s thing as long as it’s healthy.
