why ruin this room. classic upscale charm to blandness.

Removing the historic hard wood and replacing it with crappy veneer check. Beautiful Victorian built-in mirror yeah throw that out. Tiffany chandelier? Hey replace that with hyper modern paper pendant that fits Victorian era home.

I had previously asked what they did with that fabulous mirror, obviously no answer.

Totally agree that the removed mirror and chandelier were two of the best parts of the room. They could’ve kept those features and still added the modern furnishings since that’s obviously more their style. To each their own, I suppose.

I cannot imagine getting rid of the built in mirror or any original treasures - not made in China !!!! The original floors !!! This redo looks like IKEA- sorry ! I like clean lines but don’t buy a superior house w/ history if you’re going to turn into an IKEA showroom . This one makes me sad - we all want that damn mirror & light & real wood !!!!

How sad to replace the flooring. But don’t worry about the cheap furniture. It looks AI generated. The IKEA influenced kitchen is also sad when compared to the original.

Beverly, me too. How to ruin an old classic. The floors, OMG!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it. It was a rich room with character and warm. Now, super bland. It really is a shame!

I loved the original. After seeing the after I switched back and forth to see specifically what I liked and didn’t like. If I saw the before I’d want to move right in with no changes. The original floors were so beautiful. I thought the updating specifics could better be resolved with updated furniture or steampunk style accessories for instance. I’m sorry but really the first words that came to mind after seeing the “after” was Bland!! Ordinary! Typical.!

Exactly! Destroyed beautiful classic design with bland ikea-like stuff
