The tile is too big for any pattern lay

I guessm not necessarily looking for a pattern like herringbone style but should I lay it vertically or horizontally and different sizes of the tile    ?

Or should I just lay it solid hardwood  floor in the foyer ?? I wanted to save my Canadian wood from being damaged from rain and snow.

Buy the much smaller size, and you can do a pattern. You can only do stacked bond with a tile that large. And it is way out if scale to the size of that foyer. It’s too big.

I'd go with the last pic--horizontal over the vertical (if you do decide to keep this tile).

You can not do a 50% offset with large format tile. All you can do is a stacked bond. That tile is huge. The foyer is not. That's a scale mismatch. Especially if you were looking for some type of design lay.
