Greatroom Layout

I am conflicted about how to do furniture layout. The TV will be to the right of the fireplace. This will be the only public room for this 4 bedroom home. It is the gathering place for all of the extended family.
It has to be durable and comfy.
The wall between dining room and this room will come out. Paint will be Behr Studio Clay.

Maybe strat by choosing the seating that all works together it is IMO just a bunch of stuff thrown together in a spac e. I think it is agood idea to have the TV next to the FP but I need a to scale floor plan and you need to wait to do that until the wll is removed. You do the plan on graph paper showing every window doorways where those lead and all meausuremetns clearly marked you then post it here in this post in jpeg formt DO NOT start another post . You need to provide info as to how many seats , the size of the TV and some clue as to your style which right now is all over the map.BTW wall colr last choice you will make and please not that tan/ beige IMO beige is not neutral at all.

I want clean and light, but not stark.  I can do an update when the wall comes out and a scale drawing.

Right now it is dark with lots of wild animal decor (previous owners choice). It is around the corner from a huge recreation lake as well as off a pool so it has to be durable.

    Thanks for the input.

The wall between the LR and DR looks bearing & it's evident it holds HVAC so the DR doesn't have vaulted ceilings. Are you prepared to completely replace the floor in the LR, the kitchen, and the DR if that wall comes down, because you might be forced to do that. I'm not sure taking out that wall is a good idea.

First NO to the patterns you have posted. No one is pushing gray but blue is just not the right color in this earthtone room.

This layout below should work well for the room. I don't understand why the furnishings in the two photos are so very different. Do you have the sofa and recliners? If so, move the furnishings around in the room and try this layout for function. Since the layout is not to scale, you may have to make some adjustments to what you see

If you want a pattern then select a patterned rug, not patterned upholstery. Confine the upholstery to solids, stripes and small patterns.

spin the sectional to face the FB and TV wall.

recliner to the right. With such a pink hint to the floor, your Studio Caly will only enhance it.

how about BM Winds Breath for a fresher tint, would look nice with your Fireplace.

You can select fabrics like these when your fireplace looks like the one I have posted below. A charming traditional fireplace in white or a color. Not when your have a full wall of rustic stone.

Here are some patterned rugs for the space. I personally would select something less patterned but this is just to demonstrate rugs that work with the colors of the rock.

I see you love color! Those fabrics would make great drapery choices.

    Were thinking something like this?
