More Reblooms and Late Scapers

We got more than two inches of rain today. That brings the August total to more than 5 inches already. Maybe it will prompt more rebloom. This week I had three rebloomers and some late scapers start flowering. I have three seedlings with rebloom scapes on the way and Sensational Heart is putting up another rebloom stalk.

Orchid Linen started reblooming on a short scape.

Blushing Escapade has two rebloom scapes blooming.

Seedling Cowgirl Spurs X Skater is reblooming.

Linda Beck is blooming on a late scape.

Minstrel Singer with a duo.

The last bloom for Memphis on a later scape

Tart With a Heart has almost finished its run on two very well-budded late scapes. The scape still blooming has 21 buds.

Strawberry Alarm Clock is still blooming.

A nice group. LInda Beck is my favorite; Orchid Linen is rather interesting.

We had a steady gentle rain the other night--ideal. Linda Beck has been decent this year, though this is a year when the bar is low. I think I can recall a year when Blushing E rebloomed.

You probably will get more rebloom. It looks like Blushing Escapade performed well for you. I like Orchid Linen and Tart With a Heart is really pretty.

Mantis - I didn't know if you still had Linda Beck. That one used to always rebloom for me until the neighbors' trees got so tall. Blushing Escapade is a terrific rebloomer for Kate. I'm surprised it's only rebloomed once for you.

Brad - Linda Beck has a beautiful bloom. The scapes are always short - I think it's registered at 22 inches, and the scapes were much shorter than that this year.

Sherry - I'm glad you like Blushing Escapade.

Kate - This has been the best season so far for Orchid Linen. Tart With a Heart has been wonderful on those two later scapes.

Tart with a Heart is so pretty. We planted it last year, but it didn't bloom this year. I'm afraid it doesn't like our climate. I also like your Cowgirl Spurs seedling and Strawberry Alarm Clock.

The pink color on Strawberry Alarm Clock in your photo looks true pink. I like it.......I always liked Linda Beck and at one time I had 4 pots of it because vendors kept sending it as a bonus plant. I liked the color and the form, but alas it never bloomed all that much for me, and certainly no reblooms. I remember yours performing so much better for you. It likes you....................Maryl

Maryl - Strawberry Alarm Clock did have pretty shade of pink in that photo. I like the color best when its very hot and the pink is lighter. When it's cooler, the color is more like this:

Linda Beck used to always rebloom here until my neighbor planted so many tall trees next door. It's amazing that you used to have four pots of it.

Nan - Maybe Tart With a Heart will do better for you next season. I'd keep it around to see. I was able to set one pod on it, and its pollen produced pods on both of the red-eyed seedlings I sent you.
