What is the water spray to the right? Is your home located adjacent to a park? If you're next to a park you should expect neighborhood kids to run through your yard, it goes with the territory. A large planting bed like Celery suggested will be trampled. What you really need is a couple of trees on the right side and flowers in the planting bed by the house.

No way to give intelligent planting suggestions without knowing where in the world this house is. Stockholm? Seattle? Tuscaloosa? Wichita?

How big is that bed to the right? Whatever those shrubs are next to the house are way too close to the house. The other two are ok if they don’t grow much. How big will they get? That downspout needs attention. As soon as it rains all that fresh mulch near it will be in the yard.

The front door inset appears very small and will not lend itself to much decor at all. Maybe a rug and a big, sophisticated pendant light. For sure don’t plant anything in front of it.

Extending the walkway straight out from the entry would be nice.

NW Arkansas? Lots of nice places to live there. My former boss recently moved to Fayetteville.

Typically, home builders don’t know much about landscaping and it makes perfect sense that they plopped those shrubs there. I think I’d dig up those in the rear and find another home for them.

What’s off further to the right? Could the existing bed be expanded that way to wrap around the house? Landscapers often set a small ornamental tree at corners, something that won’t grow bigger than 20’ or so. Dogwood or redbud or Japanese maple maybe. The bed would have to be widened out further into the yard (away from the house) so the tree could be planted a distance away from the house corner.

How far to the side does your property line go? It kind of feels like the right side of the house ends abruptly, and a substantial side porch would help balance it. An attractive garage door is needed.

Not landscaping, but I wonder how it would look if entry way and door were painted a lighter color, such as a light- medium color of the brick. Is it cutthroat same brown as shutters and garage? Since door is set in, it may not help to paint it a so- called “ pop” of color, though perhaps the walls vs door could be did but in same family, but have that inset just be more light- catching. Plus be sure you have nice welcoming lighting for night.
