IMO a color would be nice in that huge sea of beige and I dislike sectionals but that is another thing.

Of the two, i vote darker.

Patricia, I agree tgat we have a lot of beige- I am planning to take down the brown wallpaper on that high wall. Plan is to build shadow boxes ( talk I think they’re called plate height? ) and I was thinking I’d paint a sage green above the shadow boxes. Would that change your suggestion to choose a color or no? Also I do like idea of couch n loveseat or 2 couches but if I did that it would close off the traffic flow through the two large openings - so not sure what I could use for seating without putting a sectional in the room. Thank you in advance for your suggestions

I like the darker choice of your fabrics, and after you've made the other changes you've mentioned, see if maybe yellow counter stools with backs would go well with the new decor -- I say that because the yellow print in your kitchen is a nice touch, so touches of that elsewhere might be one way to introduce more color into the scene

I thought the darker as well, then I thought darker might make the room feel smaller where the lighter one would blend in more with the rug. You can contrast and add color with pillows and throws easily enough.

Thanks for suggestions- Creative Windows you hit the nail on the head with my dilemma- the darker/ beige brown is definitely a nice contrast but it might make the smallish living room seem smaller and there are no windows in that room so color may appear darker even though it’s not super dark, more of a mid-tone. It’s lighter than the gray monstrosity that was our temporary sectional when we moved here 4 years ago. Someone told me to use similar neutrals in the sunroom n living room to make space appear as one big living space. Not sure if that was sound interior design advice ?!

I think the lighter color would give you more options to bring in some color and lightness via accessories and art I love sectionals, but find the ones with chaise attatched can be challenging for furnitue arranging.

I would have selected a fabric closer to the one in the sunroom.

I think both of these colors are too dark for the room.

Thank you Beverly - I love the botanicals in the black frames. Also going to go back to considering out some of the lighter fabrics that are available. I do have 2 other samples I could photograph and post tomorrow.

Round 2 pics- here are 2 lighter samples- I placed them next to my sunroom couch pillow just for comparison-lighter one is very light beige( I see gray too) darker is a warm gray.

The texture of these 2 fabrics is very similar to every other piece of upholstered furniture in our home. Just an FYI-
