I don't like these but with an extended cable, pulleys, and counterweight you you may be able to adapt any pendant you liked to work this way.

I did see in our local Harvey Norman these. They have a seperate stainless wire rope that could be lowered from ceiling. I can't find online and they didn't know where from. They are a large commercial light.

There are lots of lights like that but the wire "rope" is tightened with a set screw at the canopy to hold the fixtures at the desired height. The height of the lights can't be adjusted without loosening the screw at the canopy.

Thanks wdccruse. Yeah I recon I can extend the stainless wire to the ceiling, through an eye bolt back to close to the man hole.
