I cannot tell you how much I hate chep oak . It is grainy , grooved not smooth and never looks good if you decide to paint If you love oak then my advice get the floors first then figure out the stain got the wood . As for cabinet color I would not do the cabinets in the oak with the LVP floors . There are many colors for cabinets that are not white and why does hubby not want white? What is your style that will help us help you . Is this just a holiday cabin or your new home?

Each element does not live by itself. It all has to coordinate together.

Might I suggest you employ an Interior designer to at least get you started and show you how to coordinate everything to create a pleasing whole?

I also think you're going to have trouble getting oak cabinets and LVP flooring looking good together. Since DH doesn't like white, how about green or blue? It's a nice look for a cabin. I have a lot of pictures saved with green cabinets but substitute blue if you prefer it. Blue and green cabinets are pretty popular now.

Skip plastic floors in a cabin. That’s like wearing cheap rhinestones to Tiffany’s. With so much real wood around, it is only going to make it look really fake. Either do a natural stone like slate, or do real wood. And do the cabinets in a jeweled color from nature.
