This is not a apartment building...it your single family home? What is the metal strip on the wall?

Have you thought about wallpapering the entry walls to work with the elevator? Then choose a mirror for the elevator to work with what ever pattern you choose. I happen to like the Asian theme.

@eliceg yes its my single family home. The metal strip on the wall is a key ring holder but I removed it because it was ugly. My dilemma is that the elevator and too traditional and my house is modern. That wall paper would be too traditional. I would rather get the elevator to match the entryway gray walls. Should I stain the wood?

A small mirror would be nice for guests to give themselves a last minute check. Staining the wood could also be nice, but not all wallpaper is old fashioned. You'd need to show what you mean by "modern". Would you consider something like this?

What does the room look like that the elevator opens in to?

I'd keep the elevator light - paint it grey or stain it grey if it remains light. It is a really small looking space and you don't want people to feel claustrophobic.

No to picture because it would just be in the way. You could start by doing something interesting to the ceiling & perhaps installing a handrail on one or more walls.

You make it the announcement to the feeling you have on the upper landing floor! and before that, the front entry AT the elevator.

What IS that? Show some pictures of what happens when the elevator door opens! Show some pics from the entry that gets you to the elevator? And curious as to why the gray walls with the very beige tile, or is my monitor lying?
