While the Moon is incredibly important for earth's stability as a habitable planet, I know of no effects that the Moon has on any plant life. Without the Moon though, life might not ever even have been able to evolve here.

I wouldn't go that far, but without lunar delight humans may not have propagated as quickly :-)

Well, to me the sun has a far, far greater influence than the moon. I and my beloved dwarf conifers can live without the moon, but we can't live without the sun :-)
