Shutter or not?

I got interior shutters on the front portion of my home because of the extreme eastern sun coming in. Now for the back the trees have taken care of the western sun and in the winter it gets a little dark on that side of the house. I need to make a decision on whether to do the rest of our home in shutters. If I do we would not be able to hinge it open without moving some light furniture. It seems like with the tilts on the shutters fully opened though I don't see a big difference in how light the room is. Not sure though. I could get some blinds that pull up all the way easily or I could do the whole house in the shutters. The first 3 show different shots of the shutters and the last one shows the living area that I am not sure about. The constant dilemma just make me shutter... What are your thoughts?

Enough of the shutters and louvered blinds. They are drafty and are a pain to keep clean.

Get something energy efficient and easy to open like cellular shades.

Roman shades in a lined fabric are very nice. It's what we have. Order from Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper. Send for fabric samples, measure inside mount and DIY...or they can install.

I wouldn’t do it for the tiny sliver of time the sun might shine directly in the windows. The sheer panels look nice - if the sun is too bright, you should have enough panels that you can just pull them closed until it’s better.

Steve how can a blind on a shut window be drafty?

I guess not drafty but I can still feel cold air. Ask the Department of Energy lol. They say use celluar...I looked it up for you, that's why I mentioned it.
