Grass Clumps With Long, Thin Blades?

These grass clumps about ~1' tall with long, thin, ~1/4" wide blades were found in a roadside field back on 5/14. Any idea what they are?



Bonus points if you could possibly ID the small, light-purplish flowers on the wiry, yellowing stems in the first pic, too!
