You can run a stainless steel panel just behind the range - it is simple and inexpensive

I love that idea- unfortunately my husband does not. :-(

Off topic- which induction range are you getting? We are getting ready to switch too and I was leaning towards LG Studio but now I'm thinking GE Cafe (because I like the bridge burner).

Do you *need* to use something different behind the stove -- like there's no backsplash back there now? Because otherwise a behind-the-range design seems a poor choice here, as you already have a lot of surface materials. The brown bricks are pretty decent in context!

The tile backsplash only goes to the top of the 'granite' one. I'm not sure we have enough leftover from the project to go all the way down to meet the top of the stove (and above-I would like to take down the microwave).

As far as which induction range- still researching, but leaning towards the LG one on sale at Costco...
