You don't mean "lumens" which is the unit of measure for brightness. You mean "Kelvin", which is the unit for measure for color temperature. The higher the color temperature, the bluer the light. Warm light, like from old incandescent bulbs, is 2700K; 4000K is bluer (like fluorescent bulbs) and 5000K is even bluer, approaching daylight. I have old 3500K CFLs (example); I think 3500K is a good kitchen compromise, not too warm, not too cold. I wouldn't go over 4000K or you may feel like you're cooking dinner in an operating room.

Not all bulbs and integrated LEDs are dimmable.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you're limiting yourself to a rectangular fixture in the kitchen?

I used 2700 k and noticed how much the yellow went away.

I am sticking with the rectangular as will require less work than changing to a different fixture plus its a small kitchen.

It's Sunday. There should be less work.
