There are 3 species of Baileya that have 'radiata' in there species names. Strictly Medicinal Seeds sells Baileya multiradiata seeds, and they are in the UK. I really don't mind sending seeds to friends in the UK, I've done it before. 4 nerved daisy? Is that a Tetraneuris species? Tagetes lemmonii shouldn't be difficult to get. What species of Justicia are you looking for? I don't know anything about Damianita? I grew Damiana once long ago. I tried growing Tetraneuris acaulis from seed, but only had a couple germinate, and they never made it past the pot stage, but you're much more experienced with germinating seeds and tending the seedlings than I am.

Heya Jay - I keep losing the thread for the native plant forum...Do you remember Mara from Texas (wantonamara)? And her friend, Janet (Texas Ranger, aka Great Plains).We had a little seed thing going which definitely got me interested in quite a few Texas natives...including my beloved ipomopsis and various salvias. And definitely grasses - deer muhly, seep muhly et al. I think we were both growing on poor soil with a high calcareous subsoil. I was just about to get lost in dykias when we wandered off down different roads (and I was banned!) Anyway, Danny was kind enough to send me some callirhoe bushii but have been at a loss since then. Would mostly be happy with baileya multiradiata, tagetes lemmonii and chrysactinia mexicana (damianita). Had no luck at all with pigeon berries. Strictly medicinal seeds - not in the UK, sadly, but in Oregon.

Justicia is just a wild whim - j.californica or j.spicigera mayhaps.

Um, not particularly convinced I am any sort of germination expert - if you sow a lot of seeds (as I do) then you are going to get a lot of germinations...but for sure, I have woeful fails. Anyhoo, I am going to message you so as not to take up forum space rambling on.

Tagetes lemonii is not readily available (as seed at least) from what I can see. though I seem to remember it germinates well (it IS a marigold after all).

Janet and Mara haven't been seen (as far as I know) for years.

Today I'm collecting hibiscus laevis and lasiocarpus for the Wild Ones seed swap in October. It's far too early for most seed to be mature unfortunately, but I hope to get some rudbeckia laciniata and maybe some bidens aristosa also by end of next month.

I'm growing Palafoxia callosa, Monarda punctata, Monarda citriodora, Ruellia humulis, Amorpha canescens, Symphyotrichum ericoides and Eryngium yuccifolium. Symphyotrichum lateriflorum is weedy here, so I treat all the vollunteers as annuals, and I pull them out after they finish blooming. Some of my goldenrods probably do well in dry conditions like Oligoneuron rigida, Solidago ptarmicoides and Solidago drummondii.

Jay, the weirdness is that rigida and drummondii are the two non-weedy goldenrods that do best in my wetter soil as well. Just never know.

Rosaprimula, I see that Jekka has the Tagetes as plants. Might be worth enquiring about seed.
