Consider one of those retractable awnings; maybe, it could be placed over your slider doors. I am also a home owner.

I want a fully screened in patio cover.

So like a screen porch off the back of the house?? I have one. It came with the house. Needs proper foundation I believe. Yours may be fine. I can see why 2 contractors turned down the job. Your roof line is very difficult to deal with. The way the back roof line extends out over the door and the other side roof lines angle into it make it difficult to build something that would funnel water properly. What type of contractor did you call?

Yes I'm wanting a patio cover that comes off the house and screened in to be more like a sun room. The concrete patio I have there is solid. They were both patio cover and deck general contractors. It's a very awkward setup. I was thinking that the eave at the back door should be cut all the way off so that the cover can be built right off of the house but the other 2 eaves would still be there and I don't know what can be done.

You post title says you want a patio cover, which most people are going to interpret as a roof, but it sounds like you want a whole enclosed screened porch? What room does the large windows lead to (not the sliders)? Would it be possible to extend the patio over in front of those windows and add an access door there, then have a screened porch which just attaches to that part of the house? Or just build a free standing covered patio out from the house, not attached to the roof above the sliders. Not as convenient, but not as problematic. You'd have to extend the concrete, though.

If not possible, I'd consult an architect to see what they could come up with. Doesn't seem like any solution is going to be budget friendly.

I think anything is doable with enough money but honestly I think this is abad idea for that spot.

This is the only spot and most appropriate spot to put an enclosed patio cover I think. Another handyman I spoke with said to have the back door eave removed fully and possibly even the eave to the right and then have the contractor build around the other eave on the left. Does this make sense to anyone?
