Agree with houssaon. The sofa looks too large for the room and it’s a problematic color with warm colors (tan and beige).

I like the white rug but it’s way too small.

I think you need color and for sure bigger than the white one. Everything in your spac eis plain so not just color but texture so the piloows maybe some shaggy ones in the yellow or gold form a rug or maybe nother color in the rug but color you need

Thank you for the examples freedomplace! A larger rug will look much better. Houssaon I could get away with moving the couch over about 2 feet. About 4 to 5 away is the backyard slider. Patricia it’s very obvious I am scared of color 🙈 I will add some textured pillows in.

I think you've got some good advice regarding the rug. Just curious but would you be able to swap the couch and loveseat to give your fireplace a bit more breathing room? (might not work with the rest of your room).

Nellie ran that’s how I originally had it a few years back. It just gives less walking room around the couch to the kitchen or to the backyard. I’ll get a picture of the rest of the space.

Can you switch the position of the two seater and the three seater sofas. I think then possible turn the rugs as well. It seems like the two seater should be up by the fieplace, then the rug might be fine.

Minus the white rug, I think what you've got looks great. Remove the white rug and live with it all for a while. The woven rug you have below it add texture and warmth to the room that all of the rugs other people have posted lack. I'd swap out two of the sofa pillows for ones that are white with a bit of gold/mustard to coordinate with the throw and tie in the rug.

Are you really afraid of color or do you just like neutrals? Neutrals are colors too and I happen to love them!

The white rug is too dramatic and does not match the furnishings (outside of your pillows). The white rug also does not match the rug underneath, which is also why it looks out of place. I don't understand why you would layer rugs, but its your house, do what you want.

Out of all the examples below, I like mytwocents' animal one the best. It is not a sin to have a solid rug, so if you are worried about competing with the tile, just buy a solid colored one in a nice darker grey color.
