I love the genus Ficus!

Which species of Ficus do you grow. One of my favorite genera for indoors/outdoors. My hoard includes the following species:

Ficus elastica 'Burgandy'
Ficus benjamina
F. benghalensis 'Audrey'
F. lyrata
F. carica (only one I can grow outside in NJ)
F. microcarpa
Ficus maclellandii 'Alii'

I feel I left somebody out.

I'm growing Audrey and Lyrata 'bambino'. I have always liked the look of Alii and would like to try someday if I can find a place for it!

I love the Ficuses and have a few but am trying to keep them as small as possible. Except for one giant pot of F. elastica burgundy. That grows so fast, I can't keep up with anything approaching bonsai on it. My skin is so sensitive to the sap. I'm constantly running inside to wash my hands when I have to prune them.

The one that just seems to hate me personally is creeping F. pumila. Never looks happy & the variegation just wants to revert.

Ha Ha, I cannot keep F. pumila alive for a nanosecond in NJ. They have 0 dry tolerance. The only species of Ficus I really don't like. P.S., I have no reaction to their sap. Only plant that hates me is the dreaded Poison Ivy.

You are lucky! The rash is identical and I get it from other plants too.

It seems that most people seem to have a less than satisfying experience with F. pumila, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. Such a cute plant!
