Ordered the rug and the coffee table today and finished repainting the wall.

Here’s the repainted wall area. Pictures back up (DH didn’t want the hassle of removing the shelves….so I uncluttered them at least)
Had to buy new paint which was not exactly matching perfectly so the picture far right is strategically placed to camouflage the line 😝
We got rid of the old end table and lamp and I’m looking for a nice floor lamp with an off white shade.

To clarify…the line shows up when it’s lit up by a lamp so this picture gets lit up instead (and line not noticeable)

Lol RedRyder, yes, color was beautiful down below called gorgeous white but in a tall ceiling up in there it is so much more “pink pepto” but noooo, i just kept going lol.

I followed along for a while then lost track. Is the wall paint now the same as before? I love the new rug and table, wish your hubby had taken down the shelving, considering he got his blue walls! Really beautiful room!

And to contribute, yes, the table needs something. I vote a beautiful low plant, maybe succulents in a low, round ceramic planter, and a few small books.

I like the original blue fluted lamp with brown shade-- it looks fab in here. Love the new updates.

Yes this is the original paint that my DH loved and I wasn’t crazy about. I was very happy, after a lot of searching, to find a rug that worked with this color.
Thanks for your suggestion of succulent planter on table.
Re: the shelves….this is still a work in progress…we’ll see what he’ll eventually be willing to do🤷🏻‍♀️

I wanted to give you more than one 'like', Sue, on the new rug/coffee table/wall color, etc. but Houzz limits us to just one. 😊 Your dilemma - and great follow-up choices including throw pillows and blankets - are exactly what Houzz is intended to support. Houzz could use this room with its 'Before' and 'After' images in its advertising (!) and it's a perfect example of online folks helping others solve design dilemmas while becoming online friends. We had great family Christmas Day today. Half Marathon tomorrow. First chance I have had to look through lamps. I really like this one. It repeats the wood from your coffee table with the wood detail on the lamp plus the shape compliments the new coffee table shape too. And it’s nice size and great price.

Yes I am serious about the lamp...the retro ceramic blue with brown shade, I'm glad you're keeping it, and it's one of a pair? Cool.

The brown lamppshade repeats the blinds and woods, and the blue sets off the rich wall color. Its taller proportions are dramatic, yet the dark shade subdues it...keeps it from overpowering.

It has personality. It looks well made, plus it's pretty stunning... so there you go.
