I would never do alight with afabric shade in a kitchen so maybe that in the breakfast nook and something without the fabric for the island. with a glass and brass finish.

The description says it is a linen shade. I'd keep that away from kitchen grease. Maybe use this in the breakfast nook instead and find a different shade for the island. (Yes, I know Rejuvination shows them as island fixtures, but nobody is cooking or cleaning in that kitchen!)

Thank you all for this feedback - i never thought of that but think you’re all 100% right. so if i move this shade (in a larger size) to over the kitchen table, away from the grease, what would you do over the islands? I would still love suggestions for what coordinates with this!
